Opportunities for Formative Feedback

Progress is monitored through completion of regular work-place based assessments (WPBAs) uploaded via mobile devices or online. Students who pass Campus to Clinic Advanced 4 will progress to the summative Year 4 exam provided they have passed at least 4 out of the 5 ICUs and the pan-year requirements. The robust and extensive end-of year assessments cannot be passed without evidence of competence in all 5 ICUs.

Methods of Assessment

Coursework
Assessment type Notes % of formal assessment
Clinical Experience Skills Log 0
Total percentage (Assessment Coursework) 0

Students are assessed during, and at the end of, five placement rotations for which students will receive a non-graded pass. Students will also complete a series of pan-year assessments for which they will also receive a non-graded pass. Placement assessment is based on demonstration of learning and skills in the clinical environment alongside satisfactory professional attributes, attendance and engagement. Students failing one component (an ICU or the pan-year requirements) will lose the automatic right to progress to the exams. If a student fails more than one component, the Year 4 academic team will consider each case individually. If a student fails more than one component of Campus to Clinic Advanced 4, the student will be required to withdraw from the year and will not be eligible to sit the summative assessments. Failure to pass the module will result in needing to resit the year as a whole.
